Welcome to Kitchen Skip, a food blog and newsletter devoted to answering the never-ending question,
“What's for dinner?”

Everyone - free and paid subscribers alike - receive:
Two newsletters a month, filled with recipes, real life dinner ideas and chit-chat about reading, cookbooks and parenting. Occasionally, I send out additional newsletters and meal plans, just for fun.
Bonus recipes, published exclusively for my Substack subscribers. I send a mix of easy dinner recipes, side dishes and snacks, directly from my kitchen to yours.
Free subscribers only have access to bonus recipes for a 7-day preview period. After 7 days, all bonus recipes go behind a paywall. Paid subscribers always have full access to the archive of bonus recipes.
Why Upgrade to a Paid Subscription?
A paid subscription gives you full access to the archive of bonus recipes published just for paid Substack subscribers. It’s like a virtual cookbook that’s continually updated, just for you! Paid subscriptions are offered for the affordable price of just $35/year.
A paid subscription is also a way to say “thank you” and support my work. Your support is really appreciated!

Hi, I’m Jenny! I’m a culinary school graduate who made my living working as recipe developer for a really long time, but getting dinner on the table every night for my family is hardest job I’ve ever had. It’s exhausting, right?
That’s why I’m so glad you’re signing up for my newsletter. We’re in this together! If you subscribe to the Kitchen Skip newsletter you’ll get easy dinner recipes, cooking inspiration and commiseration and conversations about reading, parenting and thriving in our overly busy world.
I’m a busy Mama of two, optimist, lover of buttered toast and steaming hot mugs of coffee. I recently left a long career as a recipe developer and food blogger to start a new career in education. I’m still finding the balance between writing this food-related newsletter and working full-time at an elementary school. In other words, I’m a very busy parent who struggles to get dinner on the table every night, just like you!

Why subscribe?
Trust me, you’re not the only parent who feels overwhelmed by the simple fact that you need to feed your family dinner. Every. Single. Night. If you need help getting dinner on the table, a Kitchen Skip subscription will deliver easy recipes, inspiration and motivation.
The internet is a big place filled with lots of recipes BUT reliably good recipes from a trusted source can be hard to find. That’s where Kitchen Skip comes in! Each month I send subscribers recipes directly from my kitchen to yours.
You can also visit my food blog, Kitchenskip.com, where you’ll find easy, delicious dinner recipes that are appealing to parents and adaptable for the tastes of kids.

Tips for Using Substack and Finding Kitchen Skip Content
Visit the Kitchen Skip Substack homepage to view all of my past newsletters.
Visit the Kitchen Skip Substack Recipe Index to find all of the bonus recipes that are only for paid subscribers.
Visit the Meal Plan page to view all past meal plans. When I publish new meal plans, they will be archived here.
My Kitchen Skip food blog is separate from Substack and can be found at Kitchenskip.com. The recipes on my blog are always free (because I have ads on the site).
The Substack App: I love the Substack App on my phone for reading all of the newsletters I subscribe to. It’s a very convenient way to read newsletters - they’re all waiting there for you in the app instead of getting lost in your email inbox. I often read Substack newsletters when I’m sitting in the carpool line or waiting at sports practice. You can download the Substack app onto your phone from the App Store.
While the Substack app is great for reading newly published newsletters, there are two big downsides. #1: The search feature is awful, which makes it really hard to search for specific recipes #2: You won’t be able to easily find the bonus recipes that I publish for paid subscribers. If you want to find bonus recipes, you need to leave the app and visit the Kitchen Skip Substack homepage on the web.
